Hi all!
Krings Family Farms was established in 2017, when we purchased 80 acres of land in Arpin, WI. Our first year was spent cleaning up our property, building our house, and expanding our family. Once we established our permanent residence we began to explore all of the possibilities that came with owning our land. A large majority of our land is wooded which is where we tap our maple trees, while the other part is used as a pasture for our beef cows.
Kevin has always been into trees and has a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from UW-Stevens Point. He is also a ISA Certified Arborist. Kevin had decided early on that he wanted to learn about maple syrup production and we started tapping the first maple trees during the 2019 season. Since 2019, we have expanded to approximately 800 tapped trees with plans to add more each year. Besides running our farm, Kevin also owns and operates a local retail nursery, ArborVantage Nursery, where we produce, grow, and sell trees, plants, and shrubs (you can also purchase our syrup here too).
Tanya grew up on a local dairy farm and appreciates all the hard work it takes to make a farm operate. She has her Master's degree in Student Personnel Administration and currently works as an Academic Advisor at a local technical college. On the side she likes dabbling in the marketing aspect of owning a small business (or two). You'll often find her creating the content for our Facebook & Instagram pages, along with gardening, selling clean-crafted wine, making whipped tallow and keeping our three children in line.
Along with Tanya & Kevin, their three small children also help out with day-to-day operations, such as feeding the cows, playing with their cat Copper, and taste-testing our delicious products!
